County Durham Foodbank provides emergency food parcels and support to people in crisis across County Durham. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, and work in partnership with local churches and the Durham Christian Partnership.
How it works:
- We operate a voucher referral system. If you are in financial crisis, you can obtain a foodbank voucher from Citizens Advice County Durham or through the national Help through Hardship helpline.
- Once you have a voucher, you can visit one of our foodbank centres to receive a parcel containing three days' worth of emergency food.
- Translators are available via Language Line, and Relay UK is supported for those who cannot hear or speak on the phone.
Additional support:
- Our advisers can help you maximise your income, navigate the benefits system, and identify grants you may be entitled to.
- We rely on the support of our local community for food donations, volunteering, and financial contributions.
