The Good Neighbours Service from Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent offers free, practical support for people aged 65 and over living in the boroughs of Hillingdon and Harrow.
Our friendly volunteers can help with those small tasks you can't manage on your own, providing the kind of support a good neighbour would offer. This service is designed for occasional or one-off needs, and is available as and when you need it.
- Small domestic tasks and household help
- Occasional shopping
- Collecting prescriptions
- IT support and training in your home
- Short walks
- Low-level gardening
- Dog walking
- Posting or collecting letters/parcels
- Short-term telephone support to help reconnect or access community services (up to 12 weeks)
All volunteers are DBS checked, and our team is happy to discuss any requests you may have. Simply contact our Community Team and let us know what you need support with—we’ll do our best to help.
Social Support (Hillingdon only): If you live in Hillingdon, we also offer face-to-face or telephone support with a volunteer for up to 6 months. This is for people who are 65+, live alone with no other support, are housebound, or have recently experienced a major life event such as bereavement or a significant health event.
Cost: This service is free for eligible residents.
