Homelink Day Respite Centre
Homelink, based in Whitton, Twickenham, is a day respite centre offering family carers a much-needed weekly respite break from their caring duties.
Clients attend Homelink with a variety of conditions including dementia, stroke, MS, Parkinson's, mobility issues and those encountering social isolation. Our purpose-built dementia-friendly centre provides a happy and secure environment where people can enjoy the stimulation other company provides while being cared for and supported. This gives their carers peace of mind and provides them with free time to take a break.
Our team work extremely hard to provide an enjoyable and stimulating day and a warm and friendly home-from-home atmosphere. In addition to our team of dementia trained staff, we are fortunate to also have a team of committed volunteers who help in various ways with the daily operation of the centre.
Our clients enjoy a variety of activities including discussion groups, games, quizzes, music therapy, entertainers, armchair exercises, reminiscence and creative pursuits. We offer refreshments throughout the day as well as a two-course freshly prepared hot meal. Our clients have access to a lovely outdoor space so they can enjoy a cup of tea and chat with staff and volunteers in the warmer weather.
Homelink also offers a free Carer Support Service providing carers with a complete support framework, including advice, information, informal emotional support in person and regular meetings, social groups and events where carers can share experiences and ideas.
