Goodlives

Skills 4 You offers a welcoming and supportive workshop environment for individuals looking to build practical skills, boost confidence, and take positive steps towards employment or personal development.

Our programmes are designed for people returning to the labour market or those taking their first steps towards work. We provide a range of hands-on activities, including:

  • Woodcraft: Learn to create items from recycled timber, which you can keep or sell to support further resources.
  • Craft: Explore a variety of materials and techniques to produce unique pieces of art.

Each programme includes at least 8 weeks of face-to-face sessions, followed by 6 months of weekly tracking and ongoing support. During this time, we help with:

  • Employment opportunity updates
  • Application support
  • Partner agency referrals
  • Confidence and motivation building
  • Pre-interview preparation
  • Work experience and volunteering opportunities
  • Access to suitable interview clothing
  • Help with bus fares (where relevant)
  • Programme visits

We understand that everyone’s journey is different. Our small group sizes (8–10 people) ensure personalised support, whether you need short-term help or longer engagement for holistic support.

Health & Wellbeing Advice and Therapeutic Interventions are also available, led by our Therapeutic Life Coach. Through group and one-to-one sessions, we help clients:

  • Identify and overcome personal barriers
  • Cope with stress and anxiety
  • Change unhelpful patterns of behaviour
  • Reduce the risk of returning to bad habits
  • Improve health and wellbeing
  • Access local support services
  • Build pride in personal care

Our experienced team works closely with partner agencies to ensure every client receives tailored, appropriate support for their needs and goals.
