Ruils Connect to Tech

Assistive Technology

This project aims to introduce you to devices and software that can help you do more things yourself and stay connected to those who support you or the wider community. Ruils advisors will assess your needs for home automation / technology and propose a package that enables you to live more independently.

Ruils advisors may visit you at home to do a survey and chat to you about what will work for you. Once you have agreed the detail and ordered the equipment, Ruils will arrange the installation and provide technical support. We take referrals from Social Services or any of the voluntary organisations in the Borough.

Connect to Tech

If you think a devise will help you to be more independent or connect you with the community but are unsure about the options, Ruils are also running a ‘Try before you buy’ scheme which allows clients and unpaid carers to try items such as phones, laptops, tablets and smart speakers for a period of time, so you can see what works best for you. We will work with you to identify a device to suit your needs, assist you to set it up and to purchase your chosen equipment after the trial period.
