Are you a disabled person living in the Richmond borough?
Would you like to meet new people & enjoy more leisure activities?
The Peer Network project at Richmond AID currently holds regular groups and activity sessions and is developing a new programme across the borough.
If you’d like to come along and haven’t been before, please contact our Activities Coordinator/Digital Trainer Josh Fisher, email: j.fisher@richmondaid.org.uk .
Josh supports disabled people in the borough to identify groups or activities that they might like to set up, and will also support a number of disabled people to become peer mentors and get involved in the running of the project and its groups.
Whatever your interests – from art to computer support, walking to knitting, or if you’re interested in socialising and making friends, just get in touch. Tell us what type of activities should be on the list, so we can develop the programme and make it your own.
Volunteering as an activity group lead and mentor
We are looking for people with lived experience of disability to support our peer groups to run effectively and independently. Do you have an interest, talent or hobby that you’d like to help other people to enjoy? We’re looking for volunteers to support the running and expansion of our peer activity groups.
We need people who
- have a skill or hobby they want to share
- can make people feel welcome
- can plan ahead and organise activities
- are able to motivate people to get started
- can work well with people in a group
What we can offer
We will support you to get your group up and running, and support you to gain skills to help the group thrive.
