The Girton Memory Café is a welcoming, supportive space for people living with memory loss and their carers. Co-ordinated by the Cambridge-South Rotary Club, this friendly gathering offers a chance to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Why join?
- Socialising with memory loss can be challenging, but everyone at the Café is understanding and supportive.
- Meet others, share stories, and tackle loneliness and isolation together.
- Emotional and practical support is available for carers and family members.
What to expect:
- A warm welcome for people with dementia or memory loss, and their families or carers.
- Refreshments served in china cups, home-made cakes, and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Photos, documents from past years, songs, poems, and informal talks to evoke comfortable memories.
When and where:
- No need to book – just turn up on the first Friday of the month from 10.00am to 12.00pm.
- You don’t have to live in Girton – everybody is welcome.
- Free parking and wheelchair accessible venue.
