Wokingham & Earley Community Transport Scheme

The Wokingham Volunteer Driver Scheme offers a friendly, low-cost transport service for older residents in the Wokingham area (RG40 and RG41) who are unable to use public transport or drive themselves.

  • Transport to medical and dental appointments across the district and beyond.
  • Companionship: Volunteer drivers stay with clients for the duration of their appointment, providing support and reassurance.
  • Local shopping and other trips may also be available.

This service is designed to help those who might otherwise struggle to get to important appointments or run essential errands. Annual membership fee applies; medical trips are free with a valid Bus Pass, and social trips attract a small fee. Please contact the scheme for full details of costs.

Service hours: Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 12.30pm. Phones are manned by volunteers on a rota basis.

If you are interested in volunteering as a driver, the scheme is always keen to hear from you!
