Start2Grow is a free, friendly community gardening project in Harrow that supports mental wellbeing, builds connections, and encourages healthy, active living through growing food and flowers.

Whether you’re looking to reduce stress, meet new people, or learn how to grow your own produce, Start2Grow offers a relaxed and supportive space to enjoy the fresh air and feel better, together.

  • Who can join?
    Any resident of the London Borough of Harrow aged 18 or over. No gardening experience required!
  • How to join?
    Self-referral: Complete the online form or visit the site on the first Wednesday of every month between 10 and 11:30am.
    Referral by a professional: Professionals can refer their clients by completing the referral form.
  • What to expect:
    • A welcoming and inclusive space for all experience levels
    • On your first day, the site officer will chat with you about your interests and suggest suitable activities
    • Light gardening activities: planting, weeding, watering, harvesting
    • A chance to take home seasonal, organically grown vegetables or flowers
    • Gentle physical activity to boost mood and reduce stress
    • Calm, social environment to build confidence and connection
    • Opportunities to learn new skills and be part of a supportive group
