Dementia Project

Age UK Westminster's Dementia Service offers a range of free, friendly support for people living with dementia and their carers in Westminster.

We provide Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) through weekly face-to-face group sessions. These 24-session programmes are proven to help maintain memory and mental function, and take place in a fun, supportive environment where participants can build new relationships.

  • MCST activities include discussions, word games, quizzes, physical activities, and creative or musical sessions.
  • Weekly group at St Marylebone Parish Church, 17 Marylebone Rd, London NW1 5LT, from 2.30-4.00pm.

Memory Cafés provide relaxed, informal settings for people with dementia and their family, friends, and carers to get together, share experiences, and access information and advice.

  • The Heart of Westminster Memory Café: Every third Monday of the month, 11.00am–1.00pm at Salvation Army, Regent Hall, 275 Oxford Street, London, W1C 2DJ.
  • Memory Café supported by ‘Visiting Angels’: Every fourth Tuesday of the month, 11.00am–1.00pm at St Mary’s Church, Bourne Street, SW1W 8JJ. Free to attend, with light refreshments provided. The building is fully accessible.

Group Support Volunteer opportunities are available for those interested in supporting face-to-face group sessions for people living with dementia. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome.
