Are you a public authority supporting someone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness? Wandsworth Borough Council provides a statutory referral service under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. If you believe a service user is homeless or likely to become homeless within 56 days, you can refer them to us so we can help prevent and relieve homelessness.
How it works:
- Referrals can be made by public authorities using our online form or by emailing dutytorefer@wandsworth.gov.uk.
- After a referral, our team will contact the person(s) to begin enquiries and offer support.
- Important: A referral does not replace a homelessness application. The referred person(s) will still need to complete a homelessness application form to seek our help.
Before making a referral, please ensure:
- You have consent from the person(s) being referred.
- The individual can choose which housing authority in England they wish to be referred to.
- You have consent to share the service user’s contact details so we can get in touch.
What you’ll need:
- Details for the service user, including their preferred method of contact.
- Confirmation of consent for the referral.
We are committed to helping prevent homelessness in Wandsworth. If you need advice or support, please contact us using the details below.
