Cumberland Council Social Prescribing
5.0

Our community connectors based at Cumberland Council work with residents who may be experiencing social issues. 1 in 5 people present to their GP with a social issue rather than a medical need. This is where our team can help. Working collaboratively with residents, we help them to refer or signpost to local services and organisations within the community.

Our hope is for residents to have a better quality of life. Ultimately supporting them to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

We aim to tackle various topics such as Digital Awareness, Housing and Homelessness, Financial Hardship, Loneliness and Isolation, Low Level Mental Health, Physical Health and Welfare and Benefits. Depending on the residents need we may connect them to social groups, financial and benefit advisors, gardening clubs, sports programmes and much more.
