Make a difference in the lives of people affected by dementia by volunteering with the Alzheimer's Society Peterborough.
Alzheimer’s Society Peterborough offers a welcoming and supportive environment for people living with dementia, their families, and carers. Volunteers play a vital role in helping to deliver a wide range of services and activities, many of which take place in person at the Dementia Resource Centre.
- One-to-one support: Dementia advisors can meet you at home, in the centre, over the phone, or virtually.
- Support groups: For people with dementia and for carers.
- Drop-in information sessions
- Singing for the Brain sessions
- Hair salon and beard trimming services
- Exercise groups
The Dementia Resource Centre is a cosy, warm space with an onsite café, comfortable seating, a treatment room, and plenty of free parking (access via 5 York Road). Volunteers can help in groups, at reception, and in other roles. You’ll be part of a friendly team, develop new skills, and meet new people.
Volunteering is free and no referral is required. If you’re interested, contact the Volunteering Development Co-ordinator by phone or email, or visit the website for more information.
