Home-Start Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow is a community network offering compassionate and confidential support to families with children under five. Our trained volunteers, along with expert staff, provide a range of assistance tailored to meet the needs of struggling families.
**Who We Support:**
We offer support to:
- Families with at least one child under five, including expectant mothers in their third trimester.
- Families facing challenges such as:
- Mental health difficulties (e.g., post-natal depression, anxiety)
- Isolation or loneliness
- Relationship issues or domestic abuse
- Physical health problems
- Financial instability or poor housing conditions
- The demands of early childhood, including those with children with disabilities or developmental delays
**Services Offered:**
Our services include:
- **Telephone Support:** Accessible guidance and advice.
- **Walk and Talk:** Personal meetings for support and connection.
- **Home-Visiting:** One-on-one support provided in the family's home environment.
- **Family Play-and-Support Groups:** Weekly term-time sessions in a nurturing space to foster children's confidence and development.
**Volunteer Support:**
All our volunteers are parents or have parenting experience, enabling them to connect with families authentically. Each family is matched with a dedicated volunteer who provides weekly support through home visits or phone calls, offering a listening ear and practical advice.
**Group Sessions:**
Weekly play and support groups are held in each borough, providing a safe environment for parents and children to engage, play, and learn together.
