Dementia Support Service

The number of people with dementia is growing and we want to help make their lives as normal and as positive as possible. We do this by providing:

  • Educational sessions for family carers that help them connect more effectively with their family member with dementia, so that both the person with dementia and the carer have an improved quality of life. Currently these are provided via Zoom (1 hour per week x 4 weeks).
  • A Behaviour Support Service that provides advice to families who are struggling with problematic behavioural that their relative with Dementia may be displaying.
  • A monthly dementia support group for family carers via zoom.

Dignity in Dementia works with families, health and social care staff and community groups in Cumbria and Lancashire to educate and inspire, so that they are able to respond confidently and positively to people with dementia in a way that maintains and enhances their dignity.
