Steady Steps (Falls Prevention)

Steady Steps is a free, 24-week postural stability exercise programme designed for adults aged 65 and over who have previously fallen or are worried about falling. The programme aims to improve balance and stability, helping participants feel more confident and reduce their risk of future falls.

Classes are delivered by Level 4 specialised Postural Stability Instructors and are tailored to each individual's abilities, progressing in difficulty throughout the programme. Steady Steps is available across Leicestershire, Leicester, and Rutland with support from local health and care partners.

Eligibility:

  • Aged 65 or over
  • At risk of falling (e.g. high fear of falling or poor balance)
  • Have fallen less than three times in the past 12 months

How to join:

  • Pre-booking is required for all courses
  • Local inclusion criteria may apply
  • Contact your local coordinator for information about advanced Steady Steps Plus sessions

Support Videos: Participants referred to the programme can access a range of support videos to help them on their Steady Steps journey.

Cost: All Steady Steps sessions are free of charge.
