Refugees Welcome in Richmond

Refugees Welcome in Richmond (RWinR) is a registered charity supporting people seeking sanctuary in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. We host and promote a variety of news, events, and community activities throughout the year, designed to welcome, connect, and empower refugees and people seeking asylum.

Our events include:

  • Refugee Week celebrations with talks, social gatherings, and community support.
  • Seasonal fairs such as the Vineyard and Richmond Foodbank Christmas Fair, featuring refreshments, crafts, performances, and family-friendly activities.
  • Gardening and food-growing projects at Jubilee Meadow, encouraging wellbeing and community engagement.
  • Live performances and cultural evenings in partnership with local organisations, including music, poetry, and dance events.
  • Fundraising and impact events to support our work and celebrate our achievements.

We work closely with Richmond Council’s Refugee Services and are part of the nationwide City of Sanctuary network. Our activities are made possible by volunteers, grants, and generous donations from the local community.

All our support is free of charge to refugees and people seeking asylum living in Richmond upon Thames. We welcome new volunteers, landlords, and supporters to join us in making Richmond a truly welcoming borough.
