Amateur Radio Group

Welcome to Whitton Amateur Radio Group!

Established over 37 years ago, our club is based just 10 miles west of the City of London, close to Twickenham, the home of Rugby in the UK. We are a friendly and enthusiastic group of amateur radio enthusiasts with a wide range of interests, from LF (73 and 136kHz) to HF, satellite communications, lasers, and homebrew designing and building.

Club Night: Every Friday evening, we meet at Whitton Community Centre from 8pm to 10pm. New members and visitors are always welcome to join us for a drink, a chat, and to get involved in our activities. If you're a fellow radio amateur visiting the area, please drop in!

  • Regular club nights with hands-on radio activities (HF/VHF on the air)
  • Special events and contests, including CQWW SSB and IOTA
  • Training and support for newcomers
  • Opportunities to operate our HF station (G0MIN/GX0MIN) and contest callsign (M2W)
  • Social events, including our annual Christmas Dinner

If you are from outside the area or an overseas visitor, we would love to hear from you by email. Our Secretary’s contact details are available below. We also welcome feedback about our website and are happy to share links to other clubs.

Join us for:

  • Learning and sharing radio knowledge
  • Friendly social interaction
  • Participation in contests and special events
  • Access to club facilities and equipment

All are welcome – whether you are an experienced operator or just starting out!
