Helping Hands Community Trust offers friendly, confidential, and comprehensive advice and support for anyone facing challenges with benefits, debt, housing, employment, legal issues, mental health, and more. We listen to your concerns, help you understand complex forms and letters, and work with you to resolve your problems under one roof.
Our services include:
- Welfare Benefits & Tax Credits: Guidance on what you can claim, help with form filling, and reducing stress around applications.
- Debt & Money Advice: Support with rescheduling repayments, fighting urgent cases with bailiffs, budgeting advice, and income maximisation.
- Utility Bills: Help understanding bills, switching providers, and accessing hardship grants or trust funds.
- Consumer Issues: Assistance with faulty goods or poor deals, and referrals to Citizens Advice Consumer Helpline.
- Housing: Advice on rent, council tax, landlord disputes, homelessness, and finding safe accommodation.
- Domestic Abuse: Support for victims, including finding safety, legal and financial advice, and mental health support.
- Employment: Advice on employment rights, workplace stress, and access to free employment law walk-ins via partner solicitors.
- Legal: Help with welfare benefits appeals, employment and family law, and access to free monthly legal advice sessions.
- Household Goods: Referrals to affordable suppliers and help with grant applications for essential items.
- Free Self-Help: Access to computers and self-help resources at our centres.
- Mental Health Support: Recovery coaches available for face-to-face, phone, or walk-and-talk sessions to support your wellbeing.
We welcome people with mental or physical health problems and strive to make our services accessible to all. Everything you share is treated in confidence. Our centres are open for face-to-face support, and some services are available by phone or online.
Opening Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 10am – 1pm (phone line until 3pm).
All services are free and provided by trained, caring staff.
