OUR CORE ACTIVITY: SOCOPA DROP-IN centre is a client-led provision providing bi-lingual and bi-cultural advisors: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (10am-2:30pm).
- · Confidential Drugs and Alcohol support and Education Advice including SEND.
- · Local access to specialist advisors
- · Advocacy and outreach work
- · Services arising from DROP-IN sessions.
- ESOL Classes and Multiply Maths skills
- Tuition support and sports sessions for children and young people
- Digital inclusion support and giving free sim cards with 20-40 GB data for 6 months.
Our patient bi-lingual and bi-cultural approach is helping many from a totally different context to access help. We aim to help with the immediate problem and then support to increase confidence and independence. Specifically:
AIMS:
o To provide Somali and East African peoples with a single point of access where they can be heard and helped with immediate needs.
o To enable confident and timely communication with mainstream services
o To empower these clients to access mainstream services independently.
o To improve health and wellbeing by connecting people to communities
