At-home Befriending with b inspired’s Befriending Service

b inspired is a neighbourhood-based charity in Braunstone, Leicester. The Neighbourhood Support Team work to provide support to local people and address the issues they face in their everyday lives.
 
Braunstone Befriending Service aims to tackle loneliness amongst the older population of the Braunstone community (people aged 50+), by providing positive activities and one-to-one support, for them to engage in. 
 
One of the ways that this is achieved is through the at-home befriending service, which involves people who are housebound, or do not leave their house often, being paired with a suitable volunteer, who will visit them in their home or telephone them on a weekly basis. Alternatively, a member of staff will telephone the person weekly.  
 
The at-home befriending service is only available to individuals aged over 50, who live in the LE3 1 postcode area of Leicester.
