B inspired is a neighbourhood-based charity in Braunstone, Leicester. The Neighbourhood Support Team work to provide support to local people and address the issues they face in their everyday lives.
 
One of the ways that this is achieved is through our foodbank scheme; Braunstone Foodshare. The purpose of the Foodshare scheme is to work towards alleviating food poverty across the Braunstone estate. This is a means-tested membership scheme that is only available to people in need in the LE3 1 postcode area.
 
One-off emergency food is available but if longer term support is required, then the next step is to apply to become a member via a sign-up process, to determine the persons eligibility. Eligible members of the scheme are then able to access food provision on either a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis; which can be collected from b inspired’s Neighbourhood Support Base on Gallards Hill. 
 
The foodbank is only available to individuals who live in the LE3 1 postcode area. 
 
The regular foodbank service operates every Tuesday and Wednesday, on an appointment only basis, for registered members. The emergency service operates Monday - Friday, although an emergency referral must be made, before arranging a time to collect food. 
 
Access to the foodbank is provided by referral only. Referrals can be made via self - referral or by a professional organisation on the persons behalf. 
 
The foodbank operates on a collection only basis. 
 
A £1 contribution for individuals and £2 contribution for families must be made each time you attend, to access the Foodshare service.
