Parenting Support for parents of children and young people on the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) waiting list
Are you a parent or caregiver of a child or young person on the waiting list for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)?
Would you like help with supporting your child’s mental health needs during this difficult time?
When our children are suffering, we can feel alone and unsure and the support Breathe aims to offer can help enhance your understanding of what your child might be experiencing and how you can support them, yourself and the rest of the family.
Please join us for our monthly Parent Support Group where you can connect with other parents and caregivers who are going through similar experiences.
You will have an opportunity to share your concerns in a safe, non-judgmental confidential space. You can learn strategies to better support your child’s mental health needs and receive guidance on how to navigate the CAMHS waiting list and other resources available in the community.
The group meets in the evening, on the last Tuesday of the month, either face to face at a venue in Harrow or on Zoom.
A different specialist topic is shared each session with an opportunity for you to ask questions and share your concerns. The bite-sized information sessions share topics which matter to you.
It’s a great opportunity for you to meet and chat with other parents and carers to share ideas and experiences.
In addition to the above, Breathe can offer additional targeted support which includes One 2 One parenting mentoring, either with a HOPE Parenting Mentor or a Family Support Worker from CAAS (Centre for ADHD & Autism Support), Psycho- educational courses for parents of children with or awaiting diagnosis of ADHD and Autism, family resilience courses for the whole family; and general parenting workshops to make parenting a child or young person with mental health needs that little bit less challenging.
