Helping people with dementia to get outdoors

Dementia Adventure is an award-winning charity with a vision for a more active and fulfilling life for everyone living with dementia.

Research shows that connection to nature and outdoor activity has significant health and well-being benefits for people with dementia, and they’ve proven that with the right support, it is possible to access those benefits in enjoyable ways.

They provide supported holidays, free dementia training for family and friends, and training for professionals and organisations.
They aim to deliver their holidays to as many people who need them as possible. The Dementia Adventure Support Fund was set up to ensure this includes those who wouldn’t be able to fund a break on their own. The Fund can be used to contribute towards the cost of a holiday itself or towards something that is creating a barrier to someone taking a holiday, like transport or appropriate clothing.
