Home Plus Leeds offers practical support to help you live safely and independently in your home. Our services include Hazard Repairs, Falls Prevention, Advice & Information, and Energy Efficiency, Heating & Warmth.

Hazard Repairs

We provide essential repairs to maintain a safe home environment, including:

  • Plumbing: Fixing blocked/leaking toilets, repairing showers, and resealing baths and sinks.
  • Electrics: Repairing light switches, fitting and raising sockets to reduce trip hazards.
  • Joinery: Fixing uneven floorboards, clearing gutters, and repositioning shelves.

Falls Prevention


We aim to reduce the risk of falls and support independent living by offering:

Home Adaptations: Installing stair rails, grab rails, and improving lighting.
Hospital Discharge Support: Making homes safer by securing carpets, adjusting furniture, and fitting falls prevention equipment.

 

Advice & Information


We offer free, impartial advice on benefits and local services to help you stay independent. We also provide signposting and referrals to other support organizations.

Energy Efficiency, Heating & Warmth


We help keep homes warm, safe, and energy-efficient by providing:

Heating Repairs: Fixing or replacing radiators, fires, boilers, and improving ventilation.
Energy-Saving Measures: Supplying LED bulbs, draught-proofing, radiator panels, and support with energy bills and provider switching.


Our goal is to ensure you live comfortably, safely, and independently in your own home.

Service access criteria:

Falls - You will qualify for our Falls Prevention Service if you are 18 years+ and in any housing tenure and are at risk of falls.

 

Heating - We can help any household who pays council tax to Leeds City Council with a household income of less than £30,000 and savings of less than £16,000, and:

  • Who are over age of 65, or Pregnant or living with dependent children under 18 years old, or
  • Has a disability or long term health condition: e.g. respiratory, diabetes, arthritis or enduring mental health.

 

Repairs - You will qualify for the Hazard Repairs Service if you pay your Council Tax to Leeds City Council and are:

  • 60 years or older, own your own home and are in receipt of Council Tax Benefit or 
  • Under 60 years, own your own home and are in receipt of both Council Tax Benefit and either PIP or DLA.

The Hazard Repairs Service covers essential plumbing, electrical and joinery works up to the value of £100 and is limited to one job per year.

 

Advice and Information - We can signpost  onto other support services to help you find the most affordable option for you, in terms of energy tariffs and suppliers, claiming discounts and benefits and accessing the best advice.
