The Specialist Community Respiratory Service (East Kent) offers expert support for adults living with respiratory conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis, and asthma.
Our friendly team of specialist respiratory practitioners, nurses, associate practitioners, and administrative staff work in partnership with pulmonary rehabilitation experts, including physiotherapists, respiratory assistants, and counsellors. We provide care across Ashford, Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Deal, and South Kent Coast.

- Comprehensive assessment and review for adults requiring long-term or ambulatory oxygen therapy.
- Clinic-based appointments and home visits where clinically indicated, ensuring care is accessible and tailored to your needs.
- Support and guidance for managing your condition, including inhaler technique, breathing exercises, and self-management plans.
- Close collaboration with primary and secondary care teams to ensure seamless, evidence-based care following national guidelines (NICE, BTS, SIGN, GOLD).
- Resources and advice for protecting your lungs, including seasonal campaigns and practical tips.

Availability: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
How to access: You need to be referred by your GP or a healthcare professional. If you have recently been in hospital for a respiratory condition, you may have already been referred. If you are unsure or already known to our service and need support, please contact us directly.
