First Stop Darlington is a local charity dedicated to helping people in Darlington and the surrounding Boroughs overcome life’s challenges. We offer a welcoming, supportive environment where anyone aged 16 or over can access free, practical and emotional support tailored to their needs.
Our Wellbeing and Work Hub in the town centre provides a range of services and activities designed to help you take control of your future, including:
- Benefit advice and support – Guidance and help with applications to ensure you receive the benefits you’re entitled to.
- Housing advice – Support with housing issues, including navigating options and resolving problems.
- Information, advice and guidance – Friendly, expert help with household bills, life events, and practical challenges.
- Mental wellbeing support – Activities and services to help you manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
We pride ourselves on building lasting relationships with our clients, offering a listening ear and helping you find solutions to whatever difficulties you may be facing. Our team of local Trustees, staff, and volunteers are committed to inspiring action on poverty and building practical solutions for a more prosperous community.
