Dementia Diaries is a unique project that gives a voice to people living with dementia through more than three thousand audio and video diaries. Run by Innovations in Dementia, the project brings together a wide range of personal experiences, helping to change perceptions and increase understanding of dementia.
Our diarists share their stories, emotions, and everyday moments, offering valuable insights for individuals, families, professionals, and communities. The diaries are used to raise awareness, inform research, and inspire those affected by dementia.
- How it works: Diarists record entries via phone or by sending in their own audio/video files. Volunteers transcribe these diaries so they can be read as well as heard.
- Get involved: You can listen to diary entries, meet our diarists, or even become a diarist yourself. Volunteers are always welcome to help transcribe recordings, making these stories accessible to all.
- Accessibility: The website offers a Listen Button for audio access and adjustable text size for easier reading.
Join us to help improve understanding of dementia and support the community. Whether you want to share your story, volunteer to transcribe, or simply learn more, Dementia Diaries is here for you.
