Eight Bells Community Strength

Eight Bells Community Strength is a community-based service introduced to prevent and reduce social isolation and improve mental health and well-being for people throughout West Berkshire.

We will help and support residents to become part of their local community through community activities and by making new friends and support networks.  We want the person to feel confident doing things for themselves and we will encourage them to do things and take part in activities that help them to feel better and stay active for longer. We will encourage them to live independently, look after themselves, and have a good quality of life.

We also want to help local communities to develop their own strength and resilience enabling them to thrive.

We accept referrals from anyone aged 18 or over who -

are at risk of loneliness and isolation, or
have a long term medical condition, or
are experiencing mental ill-health, or
have a physical or learning disability

To refer yourself or make a referral on behalf of someone else with their permission, please complete the online form here https://bit.ly/3s9oKsl or via our website. Alternatively, you can email our Community Strength Coordinator - cs@eightbellsnewbury.co.uk

We will provide this support through Community Navigator volunteers who are fully trained and DBS checked and with good local knowledge of what is going on in the community.

Note: Eight Bells Community Strength is a separate service to Eight Bells for Mental Health, which some residents may be familiar with but will be delivered under the Eight Bells umbrella
