How do I get volunteer support?
Help is available from Volunteer Responders.

If you, or someone you know, or someone you care for would like support or have any questions about the Volunteer Responders programme, we're here to help. Our Support Team is on standby to book your volunteer support and address any queries you may have. Call 0808 196 3646 between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week.

What help is available?
Our volunteer services include:

  • Check In and Chat: Volunteers are available to provide a friendly phone call and a listening ear.
  • Check In and Chat Plus: Volunteers are available to provide a regular friendly phone call and a listening ear if you have little contact with others and feel lonely.
  • Community Response: Volunteers are available to help by collecting and delivering shopping, medication and other essential supplies. This service is available as a one-off or for a maximum of 6 weeks if you have a current health need e.g. you are waiting to be admitted to hospital or if you have just been discharged.
  • Pick Up and Deliver is also available but will need to be requested by a professional referrer such as your GP, other medical practitioner or adult social care provider.

We hope to launch new services in the coming weeks and months.

Please note: we cannot come into your home.

We try where possible to offer support in other languages where there is an appropriate volunteer.
