Our Drop In Service
Our Drop In day centre services provide open access support for those in need in the community.
We ensure those who attend our day centres, many of whom live across Leicestershire have a realistic chance to break the cycle of homelessness and reduce social isolation.
We believe that everyone has the right to feel safe, accepted, valued. Nobody should be judged for any situations they may be facing and should have access to basic needs, housing, advice, support and opportunities to create a better everyday life. Our approach is to never give up on inspiring change in people living in vulnerable circumstances.
The Drop In supports vulnerable people across Leicestershire by:
- Meeting immediate needs for rough sleepers and those in crisis, including shower facilities, toiletries, use of a washing machine, clothes donations, care of address for mail where facilities allow.
- Providing affordable food options.
- Reducing health inequalities and use of emergency services by providing access to health care through GP registrations, a health care assistant and ad-hoc opticians and hairdresser
- Pro-active action to end rough sleeping by providing an open access service with specialist support including housing, benefits, mental health and substance misuse
- Work with anybody threatened with homelessness by providing support with housing applications. We offer support with emergency housing, temporary accommodation and longer term housing needs and look to place those with local connections back into their community.
- Opportunities to inspire change, including access to education, training, employment, volunteering, as well as providing a programme of meaningful activities such as arts, sport, cooking and workshops in independent living and tenancy sustainment skills.
