A charity based in the East Midlands, supporting people for over 30 years (formerly known as Groundwork Nottingham).

We are passionate about sustainability, supporting people, communities and local green spaces.

All our services are FREE, funded by local and national funders. Below are some of our current offers.

Green Doctor: We can help you to save money on your energy bills and make your home more energy efficient by installing free items such as LED light bulbs, draught excluders and more. We support people with energy debt, and can check your eligibility for grant funding for loft and wall insulation, boiler replacement, solar panels, and more. This service is available in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and Nottinghamshire.

Beyond Barriers South Derbyshire: An employability programme that helps you explore what you would like to do next and how to get there. This could be getting into work, retraining, volunteering, education, and more. This service is completely tailored to your needs, interests, and challenges.

Beyond Barriers Bolsover: A week-long habitat management course in green spaces in Shirebrook. Learn woodland tasks including vegetation clearance, cutting back trees and shrubs. construction tasks like building/maintaining pathways, signage, fencing, and more. You will gain qualifications in First Aid, Health & Safety and NPTC Level 2 in Brushcutting and Strimming.

Green Skills in Nottingham: A two-day course to learn green skills, including sustainable gardening, biodiversity, DIY garden décor, and help create a community space. You’ll meet new people, build up your confidence and improve your health and wellbeing - all while learning a range of green skills. At the end, you’ll receive a certificate that can help you showcase the skills you’ve learned and the experience gained.
