Carers Support Groups

Leicestershire Support For Carers runs monthly Carers Support Groups for adults (18+) who care for someone living in Leicestershire. The groups are relaxed and informal, with guest speakers often arranged, and each session lasts 90 minutes. In-person groups are held across several towns in the county, including Blaby (first Tuesday, 2:30pm, Countesthorpe Village Hall); North West Leicestershire (first Thursday, 10:30am, Marlene Reid Centre, Coalville); Melton (second Wednesday, 2:00pm, Carnegie Museum, Melton Mowbray); Hinckley & Bosworth (second Thursday, 1:30pm, Age UK, Earl Shilton); Oadby & Wigston (third Thursday, 2:30pm, Salvation Army, Ladysmith Road, South Wigston); Charnwood (fourth Monday, 2:30pm, Gorse Covert, Loughborough); Harborough (fourth Thursday, 1:30pm, Mind & Body Studio, Harborough Leisure Centre, Market Harborough). In addition, two online support groups run each month via Zoom: “A Cuppa with Kerry” (Carers Services Manager) at 2:00pm on the third Friday of each month, and an evening Working Age Carers group at 19:00 on the second Tuesday of each month. Online groups last about 60 minutes. Attendance at face-to-face groups is voluntary; there is no charge, though some venues may request a small donation for refreshments or room hire. Invitations are emailed ahead of each session.
