Shelter England offers free, expert housing advice and support for anyone facing housing difficulties.

If you are homeless, at risk of losing your home, experiencing abuse at home, or need urgent housing help, Shelter provides several ways to get support:

  • Emergency Helpline: Call if you are homeless, have nowhere to stay tonight, are at risk of harm or abuse, or worried about losing your home soon.
  • Online Housing Advice: Access quick answers, guidance on your next steps, and information about your housing rights through our online advice pages.
  • Webchat: Chat online for immediate support if you are homeless or at risk.
  • Local Services: Find out more about Shelter's local services for in-person support.

All advice is free and confidential. Shelter helps with issues including homelessness, private renting, tenancy deposits, benefits, debts, council housing, eviction, repairs, and mortgage repossession.
