DASH (Disability Advice and Support Hillingdon) offers a wide range of services and activities for adults and young people with disabilities in the Hillingdon area. Our mission is to empower individuals and show that disability does not mean inability.
Our services include:
- Hillingdon Advice Partnership (HAP): A single point of access for residents aged 18+ in Hillingdon, providing general and tailored information, advice, guidance, and wellbeing support. We welcome adults with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs (including dementia), and anyone seeking advice or information.
- Sporting and Recreational Activities: We run a variety of social, sporting, and recreational activities for people with disabilities (aged 16+), all designed to encourage socialising and community connection. Activities are held at The DASH Hub in the Pavilions shopping centre, Uxbridge.
- Wheelchair Accessible Weighscale: DASH provides the only publicly available wheelchair weighing scales in Hillingdon, located at The Hub. No appointment is needed—just drop in Monday to Thursday, 10:30am–4:00pm.
- DBS Checks: We offer DBS checks for charities and voluntary groups. Volunteer DBS checks cost £20; employee checks (Standard and Enhanced) cost £75. To book, call 020 8848 8319 or email info@dash.org.uk.
- Wheelchair Skills Training: Contact vanessa@dash.org.uk for details about our wheelchair skills sessions.
- Help4Hillingdon: In partnership with local organisations, we provide advice and support in foodbanks and special schools to help maximise income for those in need.
