SATEDA - Recovery Groups
Verified service

Freedom Programme : This 12-week programme offers an insight into the tactics of an abuser, allowing women to recognise abusive behaviours in future relationships. Sisterhoods flourish in this group as participants support each other on their journey to freedom.

Own My Life : This 12-week course uses a variety of media to explain complex concepts about trauma and abuse, as well as how popular culture reinforces sexism, rape culture, violence, misogyny, disrespect in relationships and abusive behaviour.

Power 2 Change : This 14-week course evolves with the needs of each group as it’s self-led by participants. It aims to boost self-esteem and confidence based on the belief that women working together in a safe, friendly & non-judgemental environment can thrive.

You and Me, Mum - A supportive group programme for mothers who have experienced abuse, and whose relationship with their child(ren) may have been affected as a result. The course helps women in their recovery and supports them to rebuild and strengthen those relationships, recognising the impact abuse can have on parenting and family bonds.

EmpowHer Programme - This programme supports participants to build confidence and job skills. You’ll explore the current job market, reflect on your next steps, and learn how to navigate job application processes.

Economic Abuse - You’ll learn how to spot the signs, including fraud, misrepresentation, coercion and threats. The course also explores post-separation abuse, how economic control affects both you and your children, and the possible impact on your health and wellbeing.

Peer Mentoring - A range of peer mentoring support is available for women who want to stay connected with SATEDA or who aren’t yet ready to break their isolation. We also offer The Hive, an informal space where you can chat over a cuppa with other women who’ve had similar experiences to you.

Therapeutic Recovery Services (TRS) - We have limited counselling opportunities to talk to one of our trained counsellors for help and support as you process the emotional and mental impact of abuse.
