POhWER has been supporting people in Leicester City since 2007, offering a range of free, independent advocacy services to help you have your voice heard and your rights respected.
Our advocates can support you with:
- NHS Complaints Advocacy: Help to make a complaint about NHS-funded treatment.
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA): Support to understand and exercise your rights under the Mental Health Act.
- Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA): Support for people who are unable to make certain decisions about their lives, including Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
- Care Act Advocacy: Help to be involved in decisions your local council is making about your care and support.
- Relevant Person's Paid Representative Services (RPPR): We are one of five providers in Leicestershire. Referrals for RPPR must come via the supervisory body.
