Better Health Mind & Body CIC provides 12 week Physical Activity Courses taking place twice a week for adults looking to prevent or manage long term conditions through the benefits of physical activity as recommended in the NHS activity guidelines. Courses take place in community settings in Ashtead, Surrey and surrounding areas.
These are introductory classes designed to educate, build confidence and empower self-progression. The Hot Housing & Cultivation Process. They are also designed with the emphasis of ageing well and living longer better.
Aimed at those uncomfortable in a gym environment, returning to or starting physical activity and engaging in active living for the first time and for those looking to improve their Long Term Conditions holistically as the side effects of multiple medications cause physical and mental discomfort.
The venues are embedded and accessible throughout local communities. Most community hubs also have café’s on site allowing the opportunity of those taking part on the course to build connections especially for those who are lonely and isolated.
12 weeks x Two 60 mins classes per week – this format has the best chance of success to bring about behavioural long term change and recondition the negatives against physical activity.
During and after the 12 weeks - To encourage sign up to the gym or a sports club and to use on-line digital options as an additional option at home.
During the 12 week Course – Health & Wellbeing tips are provided along with nutritional advice and tips to utilise in combination with physical activity for the best results for body and mind. Many tips and ideas are shared through discussion, post on Facebook and e-mails sent out on how to start healthier eating along with the key staple ingredients to have both in cupboards and freezers.
