The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) provides a fast, free emergency injunction service for anyone at risk of domestic abuse or violence, regardless of financial situation, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality.
What we offer:
- Emergency legal protection: Apply for an emergency court injunction within 24 hours of contacting us, including non-molestation and occupation orders.
- Free advice and support: Our helpline (0800 970 2070) offers immediate, confidential advice. We also provide information and resources on our website.
- Accessible to all: We help those who cannot access or afford legal aid funding, assessing each case individually and advising on the best course of action.
- Partnerships: We work closely with police, solicitors, and support agencies such as Refuge and Women’s Aid to ensure speedy protection for victims.
- Training: Free training for police and agencies nationwide, delivered by our specialist trainers.
- Referral process: Referrals can be made by professionals or self-referral via our online portal, phone, or text. We aim to contact you the next working day after receiving a referral.
Who can use this service?
- Anyone who has recently experienced or been threatened with domestic abuse, including physical, mental, or financial abuse.
- No eligibility restrictions based on income, background, or location.
Cost: This service is completely free to all victims and survivors.
