Dementia Support Line

Dementia Support Line is a UK-wide helpline offering information, advice and signposting for people affected by dementia, their families and carers. Our trained Dementia Advisers can help with what to expect after a dementia diagnosis, how to access social care, practical caring strategies, and planning for the future (for example Lasting Power of Attorney). They can explain benefits and rights and point you towards organisations that provide specialised legal or financial information when needed. You can self-refer or be referred by a GP, nurse, social worker or other professional. The line is available with these hours: Monday–Wednesday 9am–8pm; Thursday–Friday 9am–5pm; Saturday–Sunday 10am–4pm. If you are in an emergency, call 999 or 111. For people with speech/hearing difficulties there are options: Relay UK to call 0333 150 3456; SignVideo to access a BSL interpreter. For Welsh language support call 03300 947 400, and for other languages we can arrange a translation service after you call 0333 150 3456. General enquiries and fundraising: 0330 333 0804. The Dementia Support Line leaflet is available to download, and the service also links to Find Support Near You for local options.
