Bay Walks is a programme of regular, free, volunteer-led walks in Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham. If you want to improve your health or meet new people, Bay Walks is a friendly and sociable way to get active and explore beautiful parts of the Bay.
All walks are open to everyone and led by trained volunteers. Walks are graded, so you can choose the most suitable one for your ability. Short walks are recommended for beginners, those recovering from surgery, or people with mobility limitations. Most walks have two walk leaders to support all abilities.
Walking regularly can help improve:
- Confidence, stamina, and energy
- Weight control
- High blood pressure
- Osteoporosis
- Coronary heart disease
- Anxiety and stress
How to get started:
- Timetables are available from Ramblers Wellbeing Walks.
- All routes are risk assessed and led by fully trained volunteers.
- Bay Walks is accredited by the national Walking for Health scheme, ensuring best practice and safety.
If you’d like to become a volunteer walk leader, a one-day training course is available to give you the skills and confidence to lead health walks. Find out more on our volunteers page.
All walks are free and open to everyone.
