Discover the joy of literature and connection with 'The Reader', a new in-person shared reading group from Age UK Croydon!
Join us every Monday from 2-3pm at Scratchley Hall, 81 Brigstock Road, CR7 7JH. No booking or sign-up is required – simply turn up and take part.
- What happens? Led by a trained Reader Leader, a small group gathers to read captivating novels, short stories, or poems aloud. We pause to share thoughts, feelings, and memories inspired by the readings.
- No pressure: You’re welcome to just listen and enjoy – there’s no obligation to read aloud or speak.
- Friendly atmosphere: Our aim is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where everyone feels at ease to participate in the discussion.
- Who is it for? Whether you love literature or simply want to listen and discuss in a friendly environment, 'The Reader' welcomes you.
We also continue our online Zoom 'The Reader' sessions on Wednesdays for those who prefer to join from home.
