Havering Statutory Independent Advocacy Service
This service is dedicated to residents of Havering who have a statutory right to advocacy. Eligible individuals include:
- Those detained under the Mental Health Act (IMHA)
- Individuals deemed to lack capacity (IMCA)
- Young carers and others covered by the Care Act (Care Act Advocacy)
- Individuals wishing to make complaints against the NHS (NHS Complaints Advocacy)
If you struggle to express yourself and lack support from friends or family, our advocates are here to ensure your voice is heard.
**Services Offered:**
Our advocates provide the following support:
- Express your views
- Secure your rights
- Represent your issues
- Obtain necessary services
**Advocacy Support Includes:**
- Assistance during Ward Rounds
- Help at Care Programme Approach (CPA) Meetings
- Support during medication reviews and discharge meetings (Section 117)
- Navigation of the complaints process
- Understanding your rights under the Mental Health Act
- Guidance during Care Act Assessments and tribunal preparations
