This is a therapy group for women who are struggling with their emotional or mental wellbeing because they are going through peri-menopause or menopause. Using a Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) approach, we aim to help people to understand the impact of menopausal symptoms on our mental health and how we might be able to manage them as effectively as possible.
The group will run for a period of 6 weeks, with each session being two hours long. As yet, a date has not been set whilst we are taking referrals. As it is a therapy group, rather than an informal 'drop-in', a commitment is required of participants to attend all sessions.
The group is for women going through peri-menopause, menopause or post-menopause where these hormonal changes have affected their emotional and mental wellbeing.
You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress or other emotional difficulties linked to your menopausal state.
This group is not suitable for those whose emotional/psychological problems are NOT linked to their menopausal state but are associated with other issues or events, such as past or present trauma, psychosis etc. Please contact the Adhar Project if you are struggling with such difficulties and would like alternative support.
