Sew Positive - Integrated Communities project

TASTER DAY 15th August 2024

Project available for 20 weekly drop in sessions - term time 10am-12:30pm

Sew Positive is a unique UK charity helping people mend, repair, upcycle and repurpose clothes to calm the mind, improve mental health, wellbeing and help our planet.

We support communities of people facing social exclusion.

Our activities take a sustainable approach to textile waste.

Our project addresses health inequalities through engagement with health services through social prescribing, enhanced participant wellbeing, and stronger community connections.
Over the long term, the project aims to foster enduring resilience, deepen connections to nature, and cultivate skills in mindful sewing and creativity.
These changes will equip participants with sustainable coping mechanisms and creative outlets, enhancing their ability to navigate life challenges more effectively, thereby reducing overall health and wellbeing inequalities in the community, and pressure on those services, and offering participants an increased opportunity to live healthier lives at home.
