Rural Action Derbyshire (RAD) is a dedicated charity working to tackle rural disadvantage and support communities across Derbyshire. We believe everyone deserves to thrive, no matter where they live.
Our wide range of projects and services are designed to address the unique challenges faced by people in rural areas. We offer:
- Food Banks and Affordable Food Projects: Helping individuals and families access emergency and affordable food through local initiatives.
- Feeding Derbyshire Network: Supporting food projects and providing small grants to help local groups make a difference.
- Digital Support Network: Assisting people to get online and access essential digital services, including calls for IT equipment donations.
- Wheels to Work: Providing mopeds and bicycles to help people access work, training, or education.
- Rural Domestic Abuse Support: Raising awareness and providing training to support victims of domestic abuse in rural areas.
- Community Oil Buying Scheme: Helping rural households save money on heating oil through collective purchasing.
- Rural Housing Advice: Supporting people with housing issues, including affordable housing and homelessness support.
- Scams Awareness: Educating communities to protect themselves from scams and fraud.
- Village Halls & Community Buildings Service: Supporting the management and sustainability of vital community spaces.
We also offer training seminars, community events, and a regular magazine (Radzine) to keep you informed and connected. Our services are open to individuals, families, and community groups across Derbyshire.
