Mutual Aid Road Reps (MARR) Outreach offers a range of friendly, volunteer-led services to help Medway residents tackle loneliness and isolation. We provide both telephone befriending and monthly face-to-face sessions across Medway, welcoming anyone who feels cut off from their support networks.
Our outreach includes:
- Coffee, Chat & Connect: Relaxed meetups in local cafes/restaurants for adults (18+). Ideal for casual chats, making new friends, and easing into group interactions.
- The Friendship Spectrum: Specialised befriending for Autistic adults, those with ADD, ADHD, or lifelong conditions that make forming friendships challenging.
- Brainstormz: Peer-led support group for anyone with a neurological condition, facilitated by volunteers with lived experience.
- Walk & Talk: Gentle group walks for all abilities, with fully accessible routes and a focus on enjoying nature and company. Refreshment stops included.
- Board Games: Social gaming sessions in partnership with Playopolis, Rochester. Play in groups or pairs—everyone welcome!
- Health Empowerment: Safe, welcoming group for people with chronic health conditions to share experiences and support each other.
- Climate Course: Interactive, informative sessions on climate topics, run in community spaces and supported by Medway Council’s Climate Change Community Working Group.
Who can join? Anyone in Medway who feels isolated or would benefit from new social connections. Some groups are tailored for specific needs (e.g. neurological conditions, autism, chronic illness), but all are welcoming and inclusive.
How to access: You can refer yourself or someone else via our website. All sessions are free, friendly, and designed to be accessible for all abilities.
Why choose us? We’re a not-for-profit, community-led initiative focused on kindness, inclusion, and practical support. Our volunteers are here to help you reconnect and thrive.
