The Great Fen

The Great Fen is a vast fenland landscape between Peterborough and Huntingdon, renowned for its unique wildlife, rich history, and ambitious restoration projects.

Spanning thousands of hectares, the Great Fen is home to two National Nature Reserves—Holme Fen and Woodwalton Fen—protected for their rare habitats and diverse species. The area is currently undergoing one of the largest restoration projects in Europe, transforming drained farmland back into thriving wetlands for the benefit of both wildlife and people.

What you can do at the Great Fen:

Support and Membership: Much of the work at the Great Fen is made possible by supporters and members of the Wildlife Trust. Membership starts from £3.50 per month.
