Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital in Herne Bay is a welcoming community hospital offering high-quality in-patient care and out-patient appointments. Our dedicated team provides a 23-bed inpatient unit focused on rehabilitation and intermediate care, helping patients regain independence before returning home.
On admission, you’ll be introduced to your named nurse and supported by our multidisciplinary team (MDT) to create a personalised care plan. We encourage patients to get up and dressed each day, and offer a range of activities to support recovery, progress, and well-being.
- Visiting hours: 2pm to 8pm (flexible for morning visits if relatives are providing care)
- Two visitors at a time, with flexibility for special circumstances
- Children are welcome to visit
- Please do not visit if you are unwell; masks and hand sanitising may be required
Our Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) is run by local GPs, and X-ray services are available Monday to Thursday, 8:30am–1pm and 2–4pm.
- Free car parking for visitors
- Coffee and vending machines in the main out-patients department and link corridor
- League of Friends shop selling personal care items, confectionery, and cards
We pride ourselves on delivering compassionate, patient-centred care. Family, friends, and carers are encouraged to visit and be involved in your recovery. Our staff are always available to answer questions and provide support throughout your stay.
Admission is by referral from your GP or hospital team. On arrival, you’ll receive detailed information about your care, and our team will work with you and your loved ones to ensure all support is in place for a safe discharge.
We welcome feedback and strive to make every patient’s experience positive, safe, and supportive.
