Personalised employment support for people accessing NHS Worcestershire Talking Therapies

Mental Health Matters, in partnership with Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, offers dedicated employment support for individuals experiencing common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Our team of Employment Specialists works alongside the NHS Worcestershire Talking Therapies service to help you achieve your employment goals, whether you are seeking work or need support to stay in your current job.

What we offer:

  • Pre-employment support: One-to-one guidance from a personal Employment Advisor, help with job searching, application forms, CVs, interview skills, and overcoming barriers to employment.
  • In-work support: Support to maintain employment, advice on reasonable adjustments, help with Access to Work applications, dispute resolution, and planning a graded return to work.
  • Additional activities: Voluntary work, work experience, training courses, and signposting to specialist agencies.

We provide confidential telephone and face-to-face appointments tailored to your needs. Our service is designed to empower you, build your confidence, and support your wellbeing at work.

Who can access this service?

  • Anyone currently on the waiting list or receiving treatment from NHS Worcestershire Talking Therapies.
  • People who are unemployed or at risk of losing their job due to mental health challenges.
  • Those in work who need support to stay employed.

How to access support:

  • Call the NHS Worcestershire Talking Therapies team on 0300 013 5727.
  • Complete the online self-referral form.
  • Ask your GP to refer you.

Referrals are accepted at any stage of your therapy journey. After referral, an Employment Advisor will contact you to arrange an initial assessment of your support needs.

Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm.

Cost: This service is free for eligible individuals.
